Creative Retreat at L'Enclos
At L’Enclos, a beautiful stone property in the heart of the Diois in the French Drôme, a restored Cabanon sits quietly at the edge of the garden, waiting for you. Surrounded by beautiful nature with lavender, old walnut trees, and impressive mountains, it’s the perfect place to slow down and work on your project.
Who Is It For?
- Writers working on a novel, memoir, or short story collection
- PhD students and researchers needing sustained focus
- Artists, illustrators, and designers in exploration or on a deadline
- Anyone craving uninterrupted time to make something real
The Space
You’ll be staying in the Cabanon, with its own entrance, a small balcony overlooking the garden, a writing desk, a well-equipped kitchenette, a cosy sleeping area, and free Wi-Fi. The village of Châtillon-en-Diois is a short walk away for bread, coffee, and the occasional human interaction.
Your Hosts
The Cabanon sits within the grounds of L’Enclos, home to Alex Verlek, coach and author, and Daphne Verlek, Dutch teacher for expats. As they know the value of focused, purposeful time, they’ll make you feel welcome on arrival and then leave you entirely in peace.
Fees
A one-week stay (Saturday-Saturday) is € 695, and €1,200 for two weeks, both including utilities, Wi-Fi, and a welcome basket of local produce on arrival.
